Shaun Kirkland was the MVP of the 2007 South Atlantic Regional Tournament, leading Wingate to its first-ever appearance in the Elite Eight. The Bulldogs finished the season 25-9, with a 11-5 mark in the South Atlantic Conference. Kirkland averaged 10.4 point per game and 4.6 rebounds in his 22.3 minutes per contest. Kirkland participated in all 34 games in the 2006-07 season, starting 27.
