The Enquirer-Journal Freshman Female Athlete of the Year Award  

The Wingate University Athletic Department is very appreciative to the Enquirer-Journal for their support of all our athletic endeavors. We are especially thankful for their willingness to support the Freshman Female and Male Athlete of the Year awards.

2007 Winner
Lara Golesorkhi, swimming

Lara Golesorkhi is a two-time first team All-American and a two-time honorable mention All-American in her first year with the Bulldogs. A six-time All-Blue Grass Mountain Conference performer, she was a four-time BGMC champion at the 2007 meet. She holds two conference records and five Wingate records. She is a Special Olympics Swimming venue volunteer.
