C.B. and Beadie Haskins Scholarship Award

This award honors the parents of Dr. Donald B. Haskins – “Dean Haskins” to most of us, C.B. and Beadie Haskins. Dr. Haskins believed strongly that excellence is exemplified when one combines scholarship and athletic ability. This award is presented to the senior male or female student-athlete with the highest grade point average.
1.         The student-athlete’s GPA is determined by the overall GPA on all undergraduate
            work attempted at any accredited school and on all credit attempted at Wingate
            University. Transfer work will not raise the Wingate average.
2.         The student-athlete must have been a student-athlete for a minimum of three years
            and be a part of a team his or her senior year.

Jessica Herman

Jessica Herman – A two-year team captain, Jessica Herman was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America® at-large second team (college division), selected by CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) in 2006. She was recognized as Honorable Mention Academic All-American by the CSCAA. Herman is the first student-athlete in Wingate University history to win both the 1000 Freestyle and the 1650 Freestyle at the Blue Grass Mountain Conference championships. She is a three-time All-BGMC performer. Herman possesses a perfect 4.00 GPA in her Biology major.
