Spencer Robinson
batted .268 playing in 49 games in the outfield for the Bulldogs in his
freshman season. Robinson had nine doubles, two home runs, 25 runs scored
and 25 RBI. He also stole two bases and had nine HBP.
Robinson was one of the top student-athletes in
Gaston County. In addition, he was the Valedictorian for
his senior class at North Gaston High School. Robinson
was a standout baseball infielder for head coach
Bruce Clark (Wingate alum) and the Wildcats.
A
shortstop and third baseman for the Wildcats, Robinson
hit .404 with 11 doubles and 22 RBI during the 2006
season. North Gaston’s Most Valuable Hitter, Robinson
was named to the All-Conference team three times. He was
also selected to play for the senior squad in the N.C.
State Games.
In
2005, Robinson hit .461 with three home runs and 20 RBI.
He is an All-Observer pick as well. His accomplishments
were not limited to the North Gaston team. Robinson
played on the 2003 N.C. Dixie Youth state championship
team.
Spencer
Robinson is the son of Fred and Debra Robinson.
Spencer’s brother (Jason) was a member of the
Wingate University men’s golf team for four seasons.
Jason Robinson graduated from Wingate in 1997.
