Ben Hinson, Assistant Men's Basketball Coach

Ben Hinson is a volunteer assistant coach for the Wingate University
men’s basketball program. The son of Nathaniel and Johnsie Douglas, Ben Hinson brings an impressive resume to the Bulldog bench.

Hinson played one NBA season with the Golden State Warriors. He played two years with the Rochester franchise in the CBA. Prior to his professional experiences, Hinson had a very successful career at Baptist College (now Charleston Southern University).

The all-time leading scorer in Baptist/CSU history with 2295 points, Hinson was an NABC All-American and the South Carolina Player of the Year his junior season (1986). A two-time All-State pick, Hinson was first team All-Big South Conference and BSC Player of the Year in 1987.

Hinson was inducted into the CSU Sports Hall of Fame in 1997. His jersey was retired in 2001. Hinson earned a B.S. degree in Business Management in May of 1987. He is a Quality Control Supervisor for Burlington Industries in Cordova, N.C.
