2006-07: Bryan Grier averaged 11.6 points per game and 7.9 rebounds per game for the blue-and-gold during the 2006-07 season. Grier accumulated 10 double-doubles on the season and again ranked near the top of the nation in blocks per game, with 3.5 blocks per game on the season. Grier also shot an astounding 67.4 % from the field during his junior campaign, also among the top of the leaderboard.

2005-06: Grier earned second team All-SAC honors in 2005-06. Grier led the nation in blocked shots (5.0 blocks per game). Grier recorded 10 double-doubles (points, rebounds) on the season. The Vance High School product averaged 12.3 points per game and 8.0 rebounds per game in 2005-06. He led the SAC in rebounding and blocked shots. His 58.7 field goal percentage placed second on the SAC charts. Grier narrowly missed a triple-double (points, rebounds, and blocks) on several occasions; most notably a 10- point, 10-rebound, and eight-block performance at St. Andrews Presbyterian College on Feb 13. Grier’s return after sitting out the 2004-05 due to injury was a big reason Wingate’s opponents shot only 40.4 percent from the floor. The Bulldogs finished number one in the SAC in field goal percentage defense.

2004-05: Grier did not play in the 2004-05 season, sitting out the season with an injury.

2003-04: Grier earned a spot on the All-Freshman team selected by the South Atlantic Conference coaches. Grier led the SAC in blocked shots with 2.3 blocks per game. He was 12th in the nation (and the top freshman) in blocks . He had seven blocks in a home win over Tusculum (Feb. 28). Grier had season-highs of 17 points and 12 rebounds against Eckerd (Dec. 6). In his first collegiate game, he had 16 points in a road win at North Greenville (Nov. 15). Grier averaged 7.6 ppg and 4.6 rpg as a frosh. He shot 53.5 percent from the floor, tops on the team.

HIGH SCHOOL: Grier played two seasons for coach Kurt Wessler at Vance High School. Grier’s team won the 2003 N.C. state 4A championship, compiling a 27-4 overall record. Grier led the club to the sectional and regional titles prior to the state crown. His senior season, Grier averaged 12 points, seven rebounds and five blocked shots per game. As a result of his efforts, he earned All-Conference and All-Mecklenburg County honors his senior campaign. Grier’s father (Odell) played college basketball at Medger Evers College. Odell Grier was ranked third in the nation in rebounding.
