Ernest Mangum did not play in 2006-07.
2005-06:
Mangum averaged 5.0 points per game in 28 games. Mangum had a season-high
25 points in Wingate’s 90-88 overtime win over Catawba, knocking down
eight three pointers for the Bulldogs.
2004-05:
Against number 20 West Georgia (at Kennesaw State), Mangum exploded for a
career-high 26 points. On the season, Mangum tallied double-figure points
in 12 games. He hit double digits in nine of Wingate’s final 10 contests
of the season. For the 2004-05 campaign, Mangum averaged 8.5 points per
game. He hit 45 three-point field goals, tops on the Bulldog charts.
2003-04: In
his first season with the Bulldogs, Mangum netted a season-high 19 points
at USC Aiken. He hit double-figure points on six occasions. For the
2003-04 season, Mangum averaged 6.2 points per game. His 30 three-point
field goals were tied for second on the team charts.
HIGH SCHOOL:
Ernest “Tick” Mangum played one and two guard for coach Leo
Brunelli at North Stanly High School. The 2002 Rocky River Conference
(2A) Player of the Year, Mangum earned many honors for the Comets. He was
first team All-Piedmont (as named by the Charlotte Observer) his junior
and senior seasons. Mangum was a three-time All-RRC and All-Stanly County
selection. He scored his 1000th point his junior season. Mangum averaged
20.1 points per game his sophomore year, 26.5 points his junior season and
22.3 points his senior year. He had 1633 points for his career.
