2006-07: Ryan Thys saw action in nine games as a junior for the Bulldogs, scoring eight points and grabbing six rebounds on the season. Against North Greenville on February 7, Thys scored four points and had two rebounds, leading the Bulldogs to victory.

2005-06: Thys averaged 2.7 points and 1.7 rebounds in 23 games during his second season as a Bulldog. Thys made 10 starts for the Bulldogs. He had a career-high seven rebounds against Queens (N.C.) on December 10.

2004-05: Thys had a solid first year for the Bulldogs. In 27 games (10 starts), he averaged 1.9 points per game and 1.8 rebounds per game. Thys can hit the outside shot, as evidenced by his eight three-point field goals. He nailed two triples in the first round of the Food Lion SAC tournament against Lenoir-Rhyne. Thys netted a season-high seven points at Catawba (Jan. 26, 2005).

HIGH SCHOOL: Thys played for Duke University grad Kevin Billerman at Ravenscroft School. His team won the conference championship his senior season. Thys was an all-conference performer as a senior. In addition, he also earned the team’s coaches award. A co-captain for Ravenscroft, Thys was the team’s leading rebounder and second on the team in scoring his senior year. Ravenscroft compiled a 29-4 record and advanced to the state championship game his junior year. Athletic success runs in Ryan’s family. Three of Ryan’s relatives have been involved in college basketball. Caitlin Thys (sister) is a freshman forward for High Point University. Erin Griffin (uncle) played at East Stroudsburg (Pa.) University, while Jesse Cort (cousin) played at the College of Saint Rose (N.Y.). Thys is the son of Michael and Lisa Thys.
