Rebounds Updated: 02/25/2008 2006-07: Kate Edwards finished the 2006-07 season averaging 6.6 points per game and shooting 42.9% from behind the arc. The Scotland County High School alum knocked down 48 three-point field goals and also pulled down 2.5 rebounds per game. Edwards scored a season-high 18 points against Presbyterian on January 17. 2005-06: Edwards averaged 6.0 points and 2.0 rebounds in 31 games for the Bulldogs in her sophomore season. She started seven games on the year. Edwards scored a career-high 23 points while hitting six three-point field goals in a Bulldog victory at Claflin on November 15. 2004-05: Edwards made a solid contribution to the Bulldogs as a first-year player. In 23 games, she chipped in 0.7 points per game and 0.6 rebounds per game. In her first game in the Wingate blue-and-gold, Edwards hit a three-point field goal in a win over Queens (Nov. 18, 2004). She hit a season-high four points against NCAA Division II number five Shaw (Jan. 6, 2005). HIGH SCHOOL: Edwards played basketball, volleyball and soccer at Scotland High. Her basketball coach was Ricky Brooks. In basketball, Edwards averaged 15 ppg as a senior. She earned team MVP honors and served as team captain in all three sports as a senior. Edwards was all-conference two years each in all three sports. A two-time MVP in soccer, Edwards and her teammates won the conference championship her senior year as Edwards netted all-county honors. Edwards scored 100 goals during her Scotland soccer career. Kate is the daughter of Roger and Mary Evelyn Edwards. Her brother (Doug) is a member of the Wingate University football team. Her cousin (Russ Adams) plays infield for the Toronto Blue Jays. |
