Indianapolis, Ind.----The number one seed Wingate University women’s basketball team (23-7 overall) will face number eight seed Johnson C. Smith University (21-9 overall) in the first round of the NCAA Division II South Atlantic Regional tournament in Florence, S.C. Friday (March 14) at 1 p.m. The three-day event will be hosted by Francis Marion University. The Bulldogs earned an automatic qualification to the 2008 NCAA Division II play-offs by virtue of their victory in the Food Lion South Atlantic Conference tournament championship game Sunday.
First-round games will be played on Friday, March 14, with the semi-finals on Saturday, March 15 and the championship game on Monday, March 17. The South Atlantic Conference occupies the number one and the number two seeds, as Tusculum College (26-4 overall) anchors the number two position.

Florence, S.C.----The Wingate University women's basketball team plays Augusta State University in the NCAA Division II South Atlantic Regional tournament in Florence, S.C. Saturday (March 15) at 6 p.m. The three-day event is hosted by Francis Marion University in the Smith University Center.
The Bulldogs earned an automatic qualification to the 2008 NCAA Division II play-offs by virtue of their victory in the Food Lion South Atlantic Conference tournament championship game Sunday, March 9.

Wingate, N.C.----The Wingate University women's basketball team will make its third appearance in the NCAA Division II Elite Eight (and first Elite Eight trip since 1996) this year. The NCAA Division II Elite Eight will be held March 26-29 in Kearney, Neb. Wingate will face Northern Kentucky University in the Elite Eight. The Wingate-NKU game will be played Wednesday, March 26 at 3:30 p.m. EDT.
