Hey ya’ll!! Kat here...I’m one of the two juniors on the Wingate University volleyball team. Our pre-season training camp was super productive. I believe our pre-season training camp helped us to a great start, as we won our first nine matches. Unfortunately, we suffered our first loss this past Saturday...but it is okay. “Even the best fall down sometimes...”

This week is going to be pretty busy for our team. We travel back down to South Carolina to play Francis Marion University on Tuesday. Most importantly, we have our first South Atlantic Conference match on Friday night against Tusculum College. All of our hard work since the beginning of August is going to be invested in this opening SAC battle. To conclude our fun-filled volleyball week, Mars Hill College comes to Cuddy Arena Saturday morning for our second league match.

This has been the pattern of our volleyball lives for the past month. Film and practice on Mondays, game on Tuesdays, practice, practice, then matches on Fridays and Saturdays. Coach Collier gives us Sundays off…so we can put our bodies back in neutral before starting the cycle all over again. If you happen to walk by the Jefferson at Wingate pool on a Sunday afternoon, chances are very high that we might wave at you.
