Hey ya’ll! (That is definitely Southern lingo I never imagined I would use.) My name is Megan and I’m a middle blocker from Pennsylvania. I’m pretty close to Pittsburgh, so needless to say I’m a HUGE Steelers fan. Unfortunately being so far away from home, I barely get to see the games on TV. Last weekend, I got lucky enough to see a win from my home team! Go Steelers!

I promised Stormi (Gale) that I would give her a shout out…so here it is. Last week Stormi, Luke (Melissa DeLuca) and I were on net duty. We come to practice a few minutes early to set up the net and get out the ball carts. Despite the fact that all of us have been putting up nets since high school, it took us forever! It actually turned out to be super funny and it was a great way to make us smile and start off practice. Hopefully, our next round of net duty will be much better than this one.

This weekend was a TON of fun. On Sunday, I went to Elevation Church at their new Butler High School location with Jacki (Emmenecker). I love being able to start my week off with Elevation. It’s such a cool church – there is a live band and an awesome preacher. Each week I can go, I leave Elevation counting down the days until the next service.

After church, a small group of us worked at our annual fund-raising golf tournament. We had a good day of working the tourney, getting some sunshine and eating some great food from the golf course.

Following the golf tournament, I had a couple of hours before I had to get ready for my pledge ceremony for Alpha Xi Delta (AXiD)! I’m so excited to finally be a part of AXiD. There are now six volleyball girls in the sorority, so I have a great support system to introduce me to Greek life.

On Tuesday night (Oct. 2), we played Newberry at home. As always, we had some of our loyal fans come out to support us. A few AXiD’s came, as well as other students, families and some professors as well. For the next two practices, we’ll be preparing for one of our big Tennessee trips. We leave early on Friday morning to play Carson-Newman. We’ll play Lincoln Memorial on Saturday afternoon. Wish us luck!
