Hey everyone! My name is Rachelle Rostas and I am currently a red-shirt senior on the Wingate volleyball team. This past weekend, we had our second tournament of the season at home. It was great to see a wide selection of fans come out and support the team. Once again we had very diverse line-ups over the four-game weekend, but each team played well and worked hard to focus on what needed to be worked on to be a strong team.

As an outside hitter, I was very proud of how each hitter played, including our freshmen. Lauren Billo (one of our freshmen…she has been sick during pre-season) came back for her first college match over this weekend. It was great to see her play and enjoy the game after having to sit out half of our pre-season until this weekend.

All of our freshmen have once again proved themselves through all of the line-ups. We ended our weekend around 7 p.m. on Saturday with a four-game victory, winning the Wingate Classic. The team working together well has made me as a senior very excited for the future of our season. We have one more tournament coming up at USC Aiken; it will be very challenging, but I have no doubt that our team will be a strong competitor.
