We have recently completed the first week of our season. Without a doubt, there have already been some twists and turns. The whole squad was excited and eager for the season to start, but we knew we faced a tough opening both mentally and physically with five games in ten days.

We lost the first game to Queens in overtime. We were extremely disappointed not to come away with something (from the Queens match). We did not have time to get down; we bounced back on Wednesday night with a home win against Barton - the first time we had defeated Barton in two seasons. On Friday, we again left empty-handed after losing to West Virginian Wesleyan in overtime.

The losses are disappointing, but we are not feeling sorry for ourselves. We have focused on the positives and the improvements taken from the game. We know that setbacks are part of the process…with so many new players, it will enable us to get better.

It has been a great learning process for the team and all the girls are remaining positive and dedicated both on and off the field. We are confident that the results will soon change as we continue to improve and do the right things every day.

There is so much talent on this team; it has been another exciting week on the practice field trying to put everything together. I am sure this week will again be exciting with an away trip to Belmont Abbey on Wednesday (September 5). Please come out and watch us this season!!
