Jayce Watson posted school records in 8K (25:54) and 10K (31:50) during 2006 season. He experienced a break-out year in 2006, earning one first-place finish, four second-place finishes and one third-place showing. Watson was second in the '06 NCAA Division II regionals at Wingate with 10K time of 32:20. He earned the first-ever trip to nationals for a WU male runner, posting a school-record time of 31:50 in Pensacola. He was the SAC Freshman Runner of Year ('05) and a two-time All-SAC and All-Region performer. Watson is involved in the Up 'til Dawn fundraiser to help St. Jude’s. He is a two-time team MVP.

Watson was captain of his cross country and track teams while at Millersport High. He was the MVP of his cross country team and Most Valuable Distance Runner in track. In cross country, Watson was named All-Conference for four years. He was All-Ohio his final two seasons at Millersport. He was on the All “A” Honor Roll for four years. In addition, he was a National Honor Society member for two years. Watson is the son of Jeffrey and Jacqueline Watson.
