Craig Kerr enters his first season on the Wingate University football coaching staff in 2007. He will assist Bob Brown with the Bulldog quarterbacks and wide receivers. In addition, Kerr serves as the program’s liaison to the admissions and financial planning offices.

During the summer of 2007, Kerr served as a quarterback coach at the prestigious Pennington Quarterback/Wide Receivers Camp in Knoxville, Tenn. He worked primarily with high school QBs at N.Y. Jet superstar Chad Pennington’s summer camp.

Kerr has also served as an assistant football coach at Crestdale Middle School in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. An honor graduate from UNC Charlotte (B.S. degree in Fire Safety Engineering Technology), Kerr was president, coach and captain of the UNCC Rugby Club.

A Providence Senior High School product, Kerr was a quarterback and defensive end for the Panthers and legendary head coach Bruce Hardin. A two-year football letter winner, Kerr was also a member of the track and rugby teams at Providence. Following his Providence career, he was a recipient of the H.K. Davis Athletic Scholarship.

Kerr is a Certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). He will begin work during the fall of 2007 on his masters’ degree in sports administration.
