Josh Threatt enters his second year coaching with the Bulldogs in 2007, assisting coach Long with the offensive linemen. In addition, he will help with the strength and conditioning. Threatt also serves as the Field House facilities manager. Thanks to the efforts of the Bulldog coaching staff, five Wingate offensive players were named to the All-SAC teams in 2006. Offensive lineman Brandon Manshack was earned All-SAC honors for the third year in a row last season. The Wingate offense ranked second in the SAC in total offense per game with 342.7 yards per contest in 2006. Also, the Bulldog passing game was first among SAC teams (and eighth in NCAA Division II) at 273.8 yards per game. Threatt was a three-year starter for the Bulldogs. He was a voted a team captain by his peers in 2005. Threatt graduated from Wingate in 2006 with a degree in finance. A top student, Threatt was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District III football first team two years in a row. He was one of two student-athletes named first team All-American Athlete of the Year by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) in 2005. Threatt shared the team lead in pancakes in 2004 and 2005. He will be attending graduate school at Wingate, working on his MBA. Threatt is a member of Delta Mu Delta business honor society. He was named to the SAC Commissioner’s Honor Roll four years in a row. At Forest Hills High School, Threatt played in the Shrine Bowl following his senior season. An All-State player, Threatt led N.C. linemen in pancake blocks his final season. Threatt was All-Conference four times and a team captain two times. He loves big trucks and country music.
