Tylan Merkerson saw action in 10 games in 2006, recording three tackles. Merkerson was a four-time letter winner and senior team captain in football, basketball and track at the Asheville School. He was named team MVP in track and field and football. Merkerson led the football team in receiving yards and interceptions his senior year. His honors included All-Conference in track his sophomore, junior and senior years, All-Conference his senior year in basketball and All-State in football as a senior.
