Shelton Nelson was a starter at right tackle in
2006. Thanks to the efforts of Nelson and his O-Line
mates, the Wingate passing game was first among SAC
teams (and eighth in NCAA Division II) at 273.8
yards per game. Also, the Bulldogs ranked second in
the SAC in total offense per game with 342.7 yards
per contest in 2006. Nelson played on the 2003 4A
state championship football team at J.H. Rose High
School. He was an All-Conference and All-County
selection his junior and senior seasons. |
