Softcheck works double duty for the Bulldogs, as he is the holder for Wingate’s place kickers. He enters the 2007 season as the number one holder on the Bulldog depth charts. Thanks in large part to Softcheck’s precise placements, Wingate rising senior place kicker Jonathan Beford scored 58 points last season. Softcheck played three sports at Wall High. Softcheck was All-Area, All-County and All-Conference in football. Softcheck played on state championship squads in both football and baseball. He is second on Wall High’s all-time receiving list in catches and yards.
