Michael
Watson was named to the All-DSC first team for the
second straight season in 2007. He has become a
do-it-all defenseman for the Bulldogs. Watson possesses
the agility to cover the quickest attackmen, the
strength to keep out the strongest and the leadership to
organize the team’s defensive efforts. He is also very
good in ground ball situations. Watson has a love for
the physical play that is a trademark of Wingate’s
defense. He was elected a team captain by his teammates
for the 2008 season. In 2007, Watson was named to the
ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District III at-large
second team (college division).
High
School: Michael Watson attended E.A. Laney High
School and played for Coach Ken Broomfield. He
was a two-time all-state and All-American choice.
Watson was named the Star News Lacrosse Player of
the year his senior year. He was a high school teammate
of fellow Bulldog Kyle Costello.
Personal: Michael Lee Watson…born November 7,
1985…son of Lois and John Watson.
