Zielinski was a team captain her senior season at McDowell High School, where she helped her team to four consecutive district titles. She was also a member of the track and field team. Zielinski earned both the Coach’s MVP and Scholar Athlete Award at McDowell High School. She was a four-year starter at McDowell. Zielinski was a member of Pennsylvania West ODP from 2001-04.
