2007: An All-South Atlantic Conference selection
for the second year in a row, Hallie Pettigrew hit .337 with 39 runs
scored during her sophomore season. Pettigrew swiped 23 bags in 2007 and recorded three doubles and 18
RBI in 190 at-bats. Pettigrew batted .412 with runners in scoring position
in SAC play. A solid student, she was named to the SAC Commissioner's
Honor Roll for the second consecutive season.
2006: Pettigrew was second on the Wingate charts in 2006, posting a .409
batting average in her 57
starts as a freshman. Pettigrew was named 2006 SAC Freshman of the Year.
In addition, she earned a
spot on the Food Lion SAC All-Tournament team as Wingate won the event.
She recorded 72 hits and 24
RBI. Pettigrew also led the team with a .475 on-base
percentage, 11 stolen bases, 16 sacrifice bunts and 21 walks. As the third
baseman, Pettigrew committed only seven errors in 160 chances. In
addition,
Pettigrew was a member of the 2006 SAC Honor Roll.
PERSONAL:
Hallie is the daughter of Frank and Amy
Pettigrew. She is one of two Bulldogs on the Wingate University
Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). Pettigrew played three sports
(softball,
volleyball, basketball) at Lake High School. As a senior, she earned
All-Conference, All-County and All-State honors in softball. Team captain
Pettigrew and her teammates won the Ohio state softball championship her
senior year after finishing second her junior season. Pettigrew led Lake
in hitting (.467 average), runs, hits and steals as a senior. She won the
team’s Best Offensive Player Award her senior year. In basketball,
Pettigrew was a two-time team MVP and three-time captain for Lake. She was
a two-time All-Conference selection in basketball, leading her team in
points, assists and rebounds as a senior. Her father (Frank) played
college and minor league baseball. She is majoring in Mathematics and Education. |
