Elizabeth
Biggerstaff rejoined the athletic administration staff as the
Assistant to the Athletic Director for Compliance and Business
Operations in the summer of 2006 after spending the 2005-2006 school
year as the assistant women’s basketball coach for the Bulldogs.
Prior to joining the basketball coaching staff, she served
three years as an assistant to Wingate University Vice-President and
Director of Athletics Steve Poston. Biggerstaff supervised
and maintained budget reports and developed promotions and events
for sports marketing. She also served three seasons as a color
commentator for the Wingate University Sports Network, providing
insight on Wingate’s basketball broadcasts, both radio and Internet.
In addition, she served one year as a graduate assistant women’s soccer coach.
Biggerstaff, a 2002 graduate of Wingate University, was a valuable
member of both the women’s basketball and women’s soccer teams
during her time as a student-athlete. Before attending Wingate
University she spent two years at Wake Forest University as a
scholarship member of the women’s basketball team.
Now as
the Director of Compliance, Biggerstaff is responsible for the daily
operations of the compliance office including but not limited to
initial eligibility and rules interpretations. In addition, she
works closely with the Faculty Athletics Representative in
determining the eligibility of continuing student-athletes,
including transfers.
Biggerstaff
graduated from Wingate with honors, earning a B.S. degree in
Psychology. She earned her Masters in Business Administration from
Wingate in the spring of 2006. Biggerstaff and her husband,
Patrick, reside in Monroe.
