2006-07: Rebekah Moody was elected a team captain by her
peers. Moody was a first team NCAA Division II All-American and a
first team CSCAA Scholar-Athlete in 2007. At the 2007 NCAA
championships in Buffalo, Moody and three teammates placed sixth in
the 200 Medley Relay with a school-record time of 1:46.95. A 2007
co-captain, Moody is an eight-time All-Blue Grass Mountain
Conference performer during her three years. She has won three BGMC
titles during her career.
2005-06: Moody teamed with Kristin Newman, Laura Gold and
Tiffany Sochurek to win the 400 Medley Relay at the 2006 BGMC
championships in Ohio. Moody had a good weekend at the BGMC event,
earning All-Conference honors in the 200 Medley Relay and the 400
Medley Relay. Wingate won the CSCAA Academic All-American team
award.
2004-05: Moody was All-BGMC in five events as a freshman for
the Bulldogs: 200 individual medley, 400 medley relay, 200 relay,
100 butterfly and the 200 butterfly. Moody is one of the top
students on the Wingate campus, as is evidenced by her 2005
Honorable Mention Academic All-American honors from the CSCAA.
AIKEN-AUGUSTA SWIM LEAGUE: Moody was an active member of
Aiken-Augusta Swim League. She finished in the top three (long
course) in the state meet. Thanks to the efforts of Moody and her
teammates, the Aiken-Augusta Swim program won the divisional title.
HIGH SCHOOL: Moody received MVP honors her junior and a
senior years at Evans High School. Her coach was Lane Shuckers. A
Georgia swimming all-star, Moody was a three-time scholastic
All-American and sectional qualifier. She was a member of the
National Honor Society and National Beta Club. Moody was an honor
graduate at Evans High School. Rebekah is the daughter of Ron
and Cinda Moody.
