2006: Brittany Horner averaged 1.11 assists per game for the Bulldogs as a freshman. She averaged 2.16 digs in 56 games for the Bulldogs. The versatile Horner saw time at many different positions in her rookie campaign.

High School: A 5-7 defensive specialist, Horner was a key player for the Triangle Volleyball Club, a nationally-competitive club team ranked number one in North Carolina. In her senior season, she led Person High School to the state championship match. Horner received numerous awards including Paul Williamson Award for PAC 6 Conference Female Athlete of the Year and the Media Athlete of the Year for volleyball. Also, she was honored with the American Citizenship Award, Roxboro Jr. Services Award, US Marine Corps Athlete Award and the US Army Reserve Scholar Athlete Award. In addition, Horner finished second to national Player of the Year Megan Hodge in the conference MVP balloting.

Coach Collier: “Brittany is a skilled player who has won matches for us as a setter, a libero, a hitter and a defensive specialist. Because of her versatility and ability to play so many roles, Brittany will be a valuable asset to our team at a number of positions.”
