BA TB B/G BE BHE Updated:11/02/2007 2006: Rachelle Rostas played in 68 games for the Bulldogs in her junior season. She played a major role in the Bulldogs’ run to a SAC regular season and tournament title. She emerged early in the year as one of the Bulldogs weapons at outside hitter. Rostas recorded 120 kills and 297 attacks on the year. She averaged 1.76 kills and 0.78 digs per game on the season. She has been nicknamed “Rock” by her teammates because of her strong physique and commitment to fitness. 2005: Rostas played in 29 matches and recorded 166 kills for the Bulldogs. She averaged 1.71 kills per game and totaled 70 blocks on the season. 2004: Rostas had 166 kills to go along with 70 blocks during the 2004 season. She also had 41 digs during her first campaign. Rostas joined the Bulldogs as a transfer from Charlotte, where she redshirted during the 2003 season. High School: At South Mecklenburg High, Rostas played volleyball for head coach Wade Pearce. She was team MVP as a junior and offensive MVP as a senior. Rostas earned All-Conference honors three years in a row. She was also a member of the swimming team. The South Mecklenburg women’s swimming team won the N.C. 4A state championship in 2003. Rachelle is the daughter of Stanley Rostas and Patty Poole-Rostas and the late Kathy Rostas. Coach Collier: “Rachelle has made steady progress each year, and now, as a senior, will be ready to assert herself as an impact outside hitter in the conference. She is a strong, physical athlete who has the ability to be a dominant attacker.” |
